DIABALANCE THE FIRST DIABETES-SPECIFIC BRAND

BalanceLabs-owned DiaBalance provides solutions to help diabetic people lead a normal, easier everyday life.

Two large DiaBalance product lines are to be marketed in pharmacies, supermarkets and large department stores.

The pharmaceutical company ESTEVE and the food company Grupo Leche Pascual bring together their experience in health and nutrition to create DiaBalance, the first brand to offer products and services created for the sole purpose of meeting the needs of diabetic people and their environment. Endorsed by these two large companies, DiaBalance focuses on providing solutions in all areas involving people with special metabolic needs, and does so by offering information, advice and solutions to the diabetic community and its environment through the www.diabalance.com website, as well as a broad range of specific products.

www.diabalance.com offers support and thorough information about physical exercise, nutrition and balanced diets for each user profile. Also, by means of texts, links and audiovisual contents, it provides practical information about diabetes-related complications and the possibility of sharing experience and advice within the community formed by diabetics, their relatives and healthcare providers.

To quote José Ramón Pérez, Managing Director of BalanceLabs, "DiaBalance is intended to bring the lives of diabetic people back to normal. Our goal is to meet the needs for specific products and services of a large part of the population".

Diabetes is an important public health issue. According to the study Di@bet.es (Diabetología. Jan. 2012; Vol. 55, Issue 1, 88-93), it affects 13.8% of the Spanish population. Diabetic patients have specific needs regarding nutrition and physical exercise, two critical issues for adequate diabetes control.

DiaBalance's dissemination portal

DiaBalance's www.diabalance.com website helps maintain a better control of the life cycle of diabetic people to make their lives as normal, healthy and balanced as possible.

In addition to a wide range of audiovisual resources, this portal is organized in four user-friendly sections: nutrition, living with diabetes, healthy habits, and care and prevention. www.diabalance.com contains basic explanations on diabetes, ongoing studies and research, available treatments, and advice on sex life, pregnancy and traveling. New features are to be added, such as online meetings of patients and healthcare providers.

DiaBalance accounts and profiles can also be found in social networks such as Twitter (@diabalance), Facebook (DiaBalance) and YouTube. These serve the purpose of disseminating support to the diabetic community and fostering dialog and interaction.


DiaBalance specific products

After promoting its website, DiaBalance has immediately launched DiaBalance Expert ―its first range of pharmacy products.

Another range of daily life products will be launched by DiaBalance in the coming months, to be marketed in large department stores and shops, among others.

Both product lines have been created to cover specific nutritional needs of the diabetic community, both regarding specific needs and balanced diets.
