Mrs. Valls has a degree in Labor Relations from the University of Barcelona (Spain). She has two post-graduate degrees, one in Strategic Management of Communication from ESADE Business School (Barcelona, Spain) and the other in Communication Management from the Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain). She also completed IESE's General Management Program (PDG) in 2011.

She began her career in 1987 in the veterinary sector company Laboratorios Hipra. In 1990, she joined Esteve Química, a subsidiary of the Group. After a few years coordinating B2B projects for third parties in the technical management team, she was tasked with creating the communication department, first for Esteve Química and later for the entire Group (2004). Since then, she has worked to develop the corporate communication: internal, external, crisis management and corporate branding and identity. She was appointed to her current role in January 2019, adding Public Affairs to her previous responsibilities, and the management of relationships with patient associations and other stakeholders.
