Mr. Hanley received bachelor's degrees in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, Indiana) and an MBA in Management Strategy and Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management (Evanston, Illinois).
He started his career working for two entrepreneurial healthcare companies and then spent ten years at Takeda in a variety of marketing and sales leadership positions. He joined Lundbeck U.S. to launch a treatment for a rare form of epilepsy as the Director of Marketing. In his five years at Lundbeck, he also served as the U.S. commercial lead for a Phase III asset for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and as the senior national sales director leading Lundbeck's 290-person psychiatry sales force. In 2015, he joined Horizon Pharma, where he spent the majority of his tenure as the group Vice President and General Manager of the company's U.S. orphan business unit. Under his leadership, the business unit made two acquisitions, expanded its orphan portfolio from three to six products, and grew net revenue by more than 40 percent. He joined Esteve in 2018.
