Hydrogenation

Specific buildings for hydrogen reactions on an industrial scale.

The hydrogenation technology was first introduced in the Celrà manufacturing site in 1996. Since then, a significant number of processes using this technology were introduced at the site.

Units with hydrogenation capabilities are available at Spain, China and Mexico.

CELRÀ SITE, SPAIN

- A specific and independent unit equipped with two hydrogenation reactors -one in SST with a capacity of 3000 l and another in Hastelloy with a capacity of 4000 l.

- An additional unit located in the scale-up area with a third hydrogenation unit in Hastelloy with a capacity of 800 l.

The design of this equipment allows operation up to 15 bar.

EHP SITE, CHINA

The Shaoxing site has a specific and independent unit equipped with one hydrogenation reactor in Hastelloy with a capacity of 2000 l. The unit has space available to install another 2 units (with a capacity up to 4000 l/each).

The design of this equipment allows operation up to 15 bar.

The unit where the hydrogenation reactor is installed is also equipped with 4 supporting reactors (one 3000 l reactor in Glasslined , one 4000l reactor in Glasslined, and 2 reactors in SST of 2000 l/each) as well as 2 centrifuges (one in SST and one in Titanium), thus allowing to complete the synthetic process in that unit.

SINTENOVO SITE, MEXICO

The hydrogenation unit at the Jiutepec site is equipped with two reactors: one Hastelloy® C-276 alloy hydrogenation reactor with a working volume of 4000 ℓ , and one 500 ℓ SST supporting vessel. Both pieces of equipment are located in an independent area that meets high safety standards to run hydrogenation reactions up to a maximum pressure of 10 bar.

This equipment is operated exclusively by authorized personnel fully trained on the use of the installation under high safety standards.
